Breath Alcohol Test

A breath alcohol test is a fast, non‑invasive method used to measure the amount of alcohol present in a person’s breath, which directly reflects their current level of impairment. Using an approved breathalyser device, the test provides an immediate reading of Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), allowing employers to make quick and informed decisions about workplace safety.

Breath alcohol testing is commonly used in safety‑critical environments, workplaces with strict substance policies, and situations where real‑time assessment of impairment is required.

Stand‑Alone Test

A breath alcohol test can be carried out as a stand‑alone assessment. This is ideal when an employer or individual only needs to check current alcohol levels without completing a full drug and alcohol screening. Stand‑alone breath tests are often used for:

  • Pre‑employment checks

  • Random workplace testing

  • Post‑incident investigations

  • Return‑to‑work assessments

In these cases, the breath test is performed independently and results are provided immediately.

Included Within a Drug & Alcohol Test (If Requested)

Breath alcohol testing can also be included as part of a wider drug and alcohol testing package, but only when requested by the employer or client. Some organisations prefer to combine breath testing with urine or oral fluid drug testing to create a complete impairment profile.

When included:

  • The breath test is performed at the same appointment

  • Results are given instantly

  • Drug test samples are collected and sent to the laboratory as usual

Drug Hair Test

UKAS 17025 accredited

DRUG HAIR TESTING

A drug hair test provides a highly reliable way to detect drug use over a long period of time. Unlike urine or oral fluid tests, which show recent use, hair testing can identify patterns of drug use for up to 3–12 months, depending on the length of the hair sample. This makes it ideal for legal cases, workplace investigations, and situations where a detailed history of drug use is required.

Hair samples are collected safely and professionally, then analysed by a UKAS‑accredited laboratory using advanced testing methods. Results are accurate, court‑admissible (when chain‑of‑custody procedures are followed), and presented in a clear, easy‑to‑understand report.

Drug hair testing is commonly used for:

  • Legal and court‑ordered testing

  • Child protection and family law cases

  • Workplace investigations

  • Long‑term monitoring

  • Pre‑employment screening

This test offers one of the most dependable ways to assess long‑term drug use, giving employers, solicitors, and individuals complete confidence in the results.

Blood Alcohol

UKAS 17025 accredited
A blood alcohol test provides the most accurate and precise measurement of alcohol levels in the body. Unlike breath testing, which gives an instant snapshot of current impairment, a blood alcohol test offers a laboratory‑verified result that can be used for legal, medical or workplace purposes.

A small blood sample is collected by a trained professional and analysed by a UKAS‑accredited laboratory to determine the exact concentration of alcohol in the bloodstream. This makes blood alcohol testing ideal for situations where accuracy is essential, including:

  • Legal or court‑ordered testing

  • Workplace investigations

  • Post‑incident or post‑accident assessments

  • Confirmatory testing following a breath alcohol result

Blood alcohol testing provides a dependable, scientifically validated result, giving employers, solicitors and individuals complete confidence in the findings.
